1. رُبَّ باكٍ لِلمَوتِ يُبكى عَلَيهِ

    قَد حَوى مالَهُ بِكِلتا يَدَيهِ

    Many weep for death while mourners weep o’er them;

    Their hoarded wealth is held in both their hands.

  2. إِنَّما هَمُّ وارِثي بَعدَ مَوتي

    ما أُخَلّي لا ما أَصيرُ إِلَيهِ

    My heirs alone concern me after death-

    Not what I leave, but what to them descends.
