Your ambitious eyes have betrayed you
O impulsive heart
To the motives of good and evil
Drawing near and recoiling
Can one who sins hope
For repentance from Him that is pure?
How can hearts be reformed
When they are but wounds?
God has been good to us that
Our sins do not diffuse
When the hidden among us
Is exposed in his clothes
How many honored ones have we seen
Whose covers were removed from them
The shouter of fate called out
As the eternal complainant shouted
Some people's death in the earth
Is a conquest over others
Man will one day become
A body without spirit
Before the eyes of every living
Death's sign flashes
We are all in neglect while
Death comes and goes
The delusions of worldly life
Are mirages and madness
They left in the evening and woke
To find themselves shrouded
Everyone who falls from glory
Has a day of falling
Weep for yourself, o wretched one,
If you are wont to weep
You will surely die though you live
As long as Noah lived
