1. لَئِن عُدتُ بَعدَ اليَومِ إِنّي لَظالِمُ

    سَأَصرِفُ نَفسي حَيثُ تُبغى المَكارِمُ

    If I return after today, I will be unjust

    I will direct myself wherever virtues are sought

  2. مَتى يَظفَرُ الغادي إِلَيكَ بِحاجَةٍ

    وَنِصفُكَ مَحجوبٌ وَنِصفُكَ نائِمُ

    When will the one walking to you obtain a need

    While half of you is veiled and half of you is sleeping
