The utmost greed, as I have learned, is abasement—
toil, poverty, and abject humiliation.
The only ease that truly brings relief is to expect no—
—thing from people; wealth lies in contentment.
We dwell in an abode, a pasture whose aftermath is dea—
—th—an abode that strikes down and deceives.
How can this world endure, when its hours keep dri—
—ving it onward through appalling calamities?
Night and day have resolved upon this:
never to tire of scattering every gathering.
No living soul can reclaim what time has car—
—ried away from him, hour after hour.
