My two companions, if each of you will not forgive
his brother’s stumble, then go your separate ways.
Nor will two lovers remain so for long, if they do not overlook
much that displeases them, before they come to hate one another.
My two companions, the gate of virtue is to give freely to each other,
just as the gate of deficiency is to deal in debts with each other.
