What will happen to you, O land

From one nurtured by gentleness and humility?

I saw the one who met his fate

As if the love of his beloved were hatred

How strange is one who hopes which deceives him

And his certainty of perishing is pure

For everyone with deeds he is indebted to

A day to his Judge he will present

O dweller of a home like a mirage

The abode of its dweller through it vanishes

What is for the son of Adam in disposing what

    Flows through extension or grasping?
