1. مَن سالَمَ الناسَ سَلِم

    مَن شاتَمَ الناسَ شُتِم

    Whoever greets people stays safe

    Whoever insults people gets insulted

  2. مَن ظَلَمَ الناسَ أَسا

    مَن رَحِمَ الناسَ رُحِم

    Whoever wrongs people will be wronged

    Whoever has mercy on people receives mercy

  3. مَن طَلَبَ الفَضلَ إِلى

    غَيرِ ذَوي الفَضلِ حُرِم

    Whoever seeks virtue from

    other than the virtuous is deprived

  4. مَن حَفِظَ العَهدَ وَفى

    مَن أَحسَنَ السَمعَ فَهِم

    Whoever keeps their word and fulfills promises

    Whoever listens well, understands

  5. مَن صَدَقَ اللَهَ عَلا

    مَن طَلَبَ العِلمَ عَلِم

    Whoever believes God is exalted

    Whoever seeks knowledge, knows

  6. مَن خالَفَ الرُشدَ غَوى

    مَن تَبِعَ الغَيَّ نَدِم

    Whoever opposes righteousness, strays

    Whoever follows falsehood will regret

  7. مَن لَزِمَ الصَمتَ نَجا

    مَن قالَ بِالخَيرِ غَنِم

    Whoever keeps silent, succeeds

    Whoever speaks good, profits

  8. مَن عَفَّ وَاِكتَفَّ زَكا

    مَن جَحَدَ الحَقَّ أَثِم

    Whoever pardons and restrains, grows purer

    Whoever denies the truth, sins

  9. مَن مَسَّهُ الضُرُّ شَكا

    مَن عَضَّهُ الدَهرُ أَلِم

    Whoever is struck by harm, complains

    Whoever is bitten by fate, hurts

  10. لَم يَعدُ حَيٍّ رِزقُهُ

    رِزقُ اِمرِئً حَيثُ قُسِم

    No longer alive, his sustenance

    A man’s sustenance is where it’s ordained
