1. أَهلَ التَخَلُّقِ لَو يَدومُ تَخَلُّقُ

    لَسَكَنتُ ظِلَّ جَناحَ مَن يَتَخَلَّقُ

    The noble who practice benevolence - if their benevolence were lasting -

    I would dwell in the shade of the wing of the benevolent one.

  2. ما الناسُ في الإِمساكِ إِلّا واحِدٌ

    فَبِأَيِّهِم إِن حُصِّلوا أَتَعَلَّقُ

    People are all the same in withholding -

    So with whom of them, if brought together, would I associate?

  3. هَذا زَمانٌ قَد تَعَوَّدَ أَهلُهُ

    تيهَ المُلوكِ وَفِعلَ مَن يَتَصَدَّقُ

    This is an era whose people are accustomed

    To the wandering of kings and the deeds of the pretentious.
