Many a matter seems bad then turns out well,
And so it is, life's taste is sweet and sour.
And so it is, men stumble with distress,
Some grieve, while some feel nought but joy's caress.
How strange is this world to one who yearns for more,
How odd is this world and the lure it still holds!
For worldly guile there are tempting traps galore,
And into its traps it leads and enfolds.
Rare is the soul who leaves what he holds dear,
Except with heart gripped tight by sadness and fear.
When you accept what God has willed to be,
No harm can touch you, for your heart is free.
