اِذكُر مَعادَكَ أَفضَلَ الذِكرِ

لا تَنسَ يَومَ صَبيحَةِ الحَشرِ

Remember your promised day, remembrance is best

Forget not the morning of the gathering

يَومَ الكَرامَةِ لِلأُلى صَبَروا

وَالخَيرُ عِندَ عَواقِبِ الصَبرِ

The day of honor for those who patiently endured

And good lies in the outcomes of patience

في كُلِّ ما تَلتَذُّ أَنفُسُهُم

أَنهارُهُم مِن تَحتِهِم تَجري

In all their souls delight

Rivers flow beneath them

أَأُخَيَّ ما الدُنيا بِواسِعَةٍ

لِمُنىً تَلَجلَجُ مِنكَ في الصَدرِ

Oh brother, is not the life vast enough

For hopes to surge wildly in your chest?

تَرتاحُ مِن عِبَرٍ إِلى سِعَةٍ

وَتَفِرُّ مِن فَقرٍ إِلى فَقرِ

You find rest from stages into expanse

And flee from poverty into poverty

وَطَفِقتُ كَالظَمآنِ مُلتَمِساً

لِلآلِ في الدَيمومَةِ القَفرِ

I began like the thirsty, seeking

The family in the barren everlastingness

تَبغي الخَلاصَ بِغَيرِ مَأخَذِهِ

لِتَنالَ رَوحَ اليُسرِ بِالعُسرِ

You seek deliverance without its source

To attain ease of spirit through hardship

أَكثَرتَ في طَلَبِ الغِنى لَعِباً

وَغِناكَ أَن تَرضى عَنِ الدَهرِ

You have played much in seeking wealth

Your wealth being content with fate

وَالخَيرُ مالٍ أَنتَ كاسِبُهُ

ما كانَ عِندَ اللَهِ مِن ذُخرِ

And good wealth is what you earn

What lies with God of treasure
