ما إِن رَأَيتُ خِنازيراً مُعَزِّيَةً

إِلّا ذَكَرتَ بِها ناساً بِحُلوانِ

I have not seen consoling pigs

Never have I seen swine offering condolences,

Without remembering people in Hulwan

Without recalling certain people in Hulwan;

قَومٌ إِذا حَلَّ ضَيفُ بَينَ أَظهُرِهِم

لَم يَنزِلوهُ وَدَلّوهُ عَلى الخانِ

A people when a guest descends between their shoulders

A folk who, when a guest descends among them,

Do not host him, but point him to the inn

Grant no shelter, but point him to the inn.
