1. O you with whom I am enraptured—for whom my heart has taken wing,

    and at the thought of him, remembrance carries my soul away.

  2. I yearn for you, yet I have never left my station;

    it is among my traits, while through all of me the fire blazes.

  3. Were it not for your radiance, whose lightning flashes gleam,

    I would take no delight in seeing the moon within its celestial mansion.

  4. Someone said to me, “How often you have been alone with him!

    Take your share, so that the sparks may die down.”

  5. I said, “Leave me be: the possessor of pleasures faces an aftermath—

    there is no good in a pleasure followed by Saqar.”
