1. Master of the saints, O my grandsire!

    O Rifāʿī of all men, O my succor!

  2. O imam of the shaykhs in every age,

    O nurturer of the age, O its exemplar!

  3. O lofty in station, O son of al-Rifāʿī,

    O saint whose sublime heights have grown immense!

  4. O guide of hearts to right guidance, O ga—

    —te of ʿAlī, heir to his sublimity!

  5. O greatest of the spiritual poles in stature and worth,

    in station—and how lofty the height he attained!

  6. O rescuer of the weak, the helpless, and the sin—

    —ner; O my master, O my guide!

  7. You are a lord through whom noble virtues stand firm,

    and the spiritual elect drew sustenance from his bounty.

  8. For his sake, the tables were spread in the un—

    —seen, and the form of creation sang his praise.

  9. The men of the Arabs and non-Arabs thronged

    about his sanctuary, and his bounty embraced them.

  10. His noble miraculous grace transcended

    all reckoning, and his names rose high.

  11. His radiance shone, fostered by providential care,

    and he is a treasure for the fearful one who calls upon him.

  12. Aḥmad of the righteous, an ocean of virtues,

    star of the gnostics, guardian of his sanctuary.

  13. The art of the Path would not have risen among peo—

    —ple through the might of his attainment, were it not for him.

  14. In the Messenger’s eyes, he is a precious lion-cub;

    therefore the Messenger extended his right hand to him.

  15. Succor of the people of the Path, ocean of inner truths,

    a full moon of grace whose radiance rises without cease.

  16. Among the world of created beings, he was a succor,

    and upon him, unseen, God manifested Himself.
