Gaze however long at the estrangement, if you wish, and spurn me.

Isn't love, whether it's rejection or acceptance?

My heart excuses your rejection, though it upsets me,

For it wasn't out of hatred you spurned me, but reluctance.

Or else, why does my heart recall you

And see resignation in you though pleased before?

And I'm amazed that with every glance

It urges me to long for you and makes demands.

Were it not for the testimony of my limbs for the one

Who created them, I'd have denied it all in order to avoid exposure.

And were it not that passion is the judge, by whose judgement

You've known, since I've exposed myself to exposure.

And know that if I'm absent in remembering you

My fervor for you leads me to dissolve in you.

And if I've hidden how I feel from critical eyes

They see me in the heart like the bright full moon.

As long as I intended to drink a cup

    Whose seal remained unbroken,

I saw that when I savored its fragrant wine,

It gladdened me without spilling dangerously.

Yes, and a companion who sits conversing with me,

    Engaging me without ulterior motive,

By God, seated in friendly fashion

With no restraints, and it was said to him "Arise!"

So O Leader of great fortune, praised

My heart hasn't ceased to be yours, so fulfill and deliver!

And greetings of peace in the guise of honor, so listen

To the prayer of a loving, exposed admirer.

You've made the world happy as a blessed kingdom

Whose beauty we see is unmatched,

And in it you've needed neither wealth nor exertion.

For others an abundant sea of your gifts still flows,

Wasted on what we see hasn't been compensated.

The waves of your generosity spill onto the table,

While I have no share in it like feigning ascetics.

Do less, pardon me, forgive me, be gentle, have mercy, be patient,

Help me, be generous, bear it, deliver me!

Be affectionate, befriend me, remember friendship, be kind,

Hope, bestow favor, love me, bless me, compensate me!

And do not make me need an intercessor, for I do not

See any fault in Your servant, so veil the fault and turn away!

And my complaint is to my heart, for Your love judges it,

Even if life passes in estrangement.

For there is no one on earth besides You who benefits me.

Make me sincere in love and purify me!

For You are, by my life, the spirit of my spirit and my joy,

And You are, as You love, my healer and nurturer.

And no one is like me, fortune is wondrous,

And the days of this life, O full moon, pass away.

But where do You see one like me who gives You his soul?

Yet whoever imposes too much on someone, loses him.
