خل خلي من الى الغي انتمى

وتباعد عن جهول ظلما

Leave the ignorant to their misguidance

And distance yourself from the unjustly oppressive

واذا رمت رفاقا فاختر ال

خيرين الصالحين الحكما

And if you seek companions, then choose

The best, the righteous, and the wise

ولعلم الدين لازم مذعنا

طيب البال كرام العلما

And hold fast to the religion submissively

With a pure heart and honorable knowledge

ولعلم الحال والذوق اتبع

سادة القوم الشيوخ العظما

And follow the way of taste and discernment

The leaders, the elders, the greatest of men

واطرح الفاجر واقطع حبله

واتخذ بعدك عنه مغنما

And cast off the corrupt and cut his ties

And distance yourself from him trimphantly

والذي ساءت به فطرته

لا تسامته ولو سامى السما

He who his nature is corrupted

Do not befriend him, no matter how highly regarded

رب يوم سقط السيءُ عن

درجات قام فيها صنما

Many a fallen man

Rose to prominence, an idol erected

رفعة المرء بمجد خالص

من غبار الزيغ طورا سلما

True glory is unsullied

By deviations, pure and faultless

وبدين ليس فيه عوج

جاء مرفوع المباني قيما

Through faith straight and upright

Lofty principles raised securely

واهجر الخائن لا تعبا به

فهو للخزي رفيق بيفما

And leave the traitor be, do not weary yourself

For he is bound for ignominy and shame

والذي ينقض عهدا خله

عنك واتركه بفيفاء العمى

He who breaks a vow, leave him

And part from the blindly stumbling

والوفا دين ومحروم الوفا

ناكث من كل فضل حرما

Loyalty is an obligation—deprived is the disloyal

Breaker of pacts, of all merit denied

واخو الاحقاد ودعه ولا

تبغ منه النفع مهما عظما

The brother of hatreds—leave him and do not

Seek benefit from him, no matter how great

فهو مأسور هواه والذي

قام مأسور الهوى لن يكرما

Enslaved by his passions is he, and one

Enslaved by desires will never be noble

ومشان العرض باعده فلن

يعمر الناس دني هدما

And for honor's sake, keep your distance

For no foundation can a destroyer establish

ورفيق الحرص والاطماع لا

تتخذه صاحبا كيف سما

Nor make an ally of the greedy and ambitious

However highly he may be regarded

وكرام العرق فاحفظ ودهم

انما اهل الوفاء الكرما

But preserve the love of the noble

For they are the embodiment of nobility

ورجال الله لذ في بابهم

واتخذهم للمعالي سلما

And take pleasure in the company of God's men

And make them a ladder to great heights

وبنو المختار خذهم عدة

فبهم يوم غد تكفى الظما

And take the elect as your companions

For through them from woes you’ll be saved

وصحاب المصطفى فاعرف لهم

حقهم تحفظ مما دهما

And know the right of the Prophet's companions

And what is owed them, from blames be they saved

فعلى سيدهم هادي الورى

كلما صلى تعالى سلما

And may blessings and peace be upon

Their master and guide through the worlds illuminated
