ما كُلُّ مَنْ صُوِّرْ

تَحْسِبْهُ حَي

Not all that's portrayed

Do you think it's alive

لَسْ يُشْبِهُ الفخَّار

مطْبُوخ لِنَيْ

It doesn't resemble the potter

Cook for purpose

تَرضابْ وما هُ النِي

كما عُجِن

They strike and it's not purposeful

As it was kneaded

وصَوَّرُوا الفَخَّار

على يَقِين

And the potters portrayed

With certainty

إِنِ انْكَسَرْ في الْحِين

يَرُدُّوا طِينْ

If it breaks in that moment

They return the clay

وإِن انْكَسِر مطْبُوخ

أهْنا شُوَيْ

And if the cooked breaks

It needs to be cooked

لَسْ يَشبهُ الفَخَّار

مطبوخْ لِنَيْ

It doesn't resemble the potter

Cook for purpose

فَمنْ طَبخْ يَصْعَد

كما طُبِخْ

So whoever cooks ascends

As it's cooked

والنَّيْءُ في طينُوا

إِنْ عاد لُطِخ

And the uncooked in their clay

If returned, smeared

وهلْ تَرَى المطبوخْ

يَرْجِع سُبِخ

And do you see the cooked

Return cooked?

فَمنْ رَطِبْ قِحْفُوا

يَحتاج لُو كَيْ

So whoever's wet, desiccate

It needs that

لَسْ يُشْبِهْ الفَخَّار

مطبوخْ لنِيْ

أربعْ هِيَ الأحكام

دونَ الْتِوَا

Four are the rulings

Without change

ماءٌ وطينْ خَضْخاض

بِهِ ثَوَا

Water and soft clay

With it he molded

والنَّارُ عَلى التَّحْقيق

ثَمَّ الْهَوَى

And the fire in truth

Then the air

فِذِي الثَّلاثُ اشْيَا

رُدُّو سُوَىْ

So the three things

Return the same

لَسْ يُشْبهُ الفَخَّار

مطبوخ لِنَيْ

It doesn't resemble the potter

فالزَّوجْ هِيَ الجَنَّه

والنَّارْ فرِيدْ

So the spouse is paradise

And the fire outstanding

فادْرُوا هذا المعنى

ياذَا الْعَبيدْ

So understand this meaning

Oh servants

ومَنْ دخَلْ بالِي

يَرْجِع جديد

And whoever enters tribulation

Returns renewed

ومَن فَهِم يَحْتاجْ

يَكُنْ فُتَيْ

And whoever understands needs

To be competent

لَسْ يَشْبِهُ الفَخَّار

مطبوخ لِنَيْ

It doesn't resemble the potter

Cook for purpose

وأكْثَرْ مَا يبْقَى

ثُمَّ مَنِ احْتَطَب

And most of what remains

Is from who gathered firewood

نَقْلُوا إِهْنَا بِيكْ

حَلَّ العَطَب

We moved it here for you

The difficulty is solved

لو أنَّ لَيْكَ تطْلُب

فيكَ الطَّلَب

If you seek for yourself

The request is in you

كانْ تَرْجِعُ النِّيرانْ

لَهُ مُوَيْ

The fires would return

For it purpose
