دَعْني يا سالي

لو ذقتَ سَلْسَالي

Leave me, o friend

If you tasted my chains

عَرفتَ حالي

والذي في بالي

You'd know my state

And what's on my mind

لو ذقت كاسي

في الهوى يا صاح

If you sipped my cup

Of love, o companions

شممت آسي

وبحتَ بالرْاح

You'd smell my pain

And weep with the wind

تلبس لباسي

وترى مصباْح

Wear my clothes

And see the lamps

تَعْرِف مَقالي

وتعرفْ أحوالي

Know my words

And know my state

وتَصِرْ مَقالي

وتعرفْ أحوالي

Echo my words

And know my state

وتَصِرْ موالي

للمنصبِ العالي

And echo my desires

For the lofty office

بادرْ يا صاحبْ

الشربُ أولى لكْ

Take the initiative, o friend

Drinking is best for you

يُريك عجايبْ

ويزين أشكالكْ

It shows you wonders

And beautifies your shapes

وترى المراتبْ

إِن ردت تُجلالكْ

And you see the ranks

If you want your glory back

شرابْ حَلالِي

شيخي أوْصَالي

My lawful drink

My sheikh supplied me

قمْ عظم الله

الواحد العالي

Rise, Allah is great

The One, The Exalted

ما ثمّ إِلا

هُوَ هُ قل يا هُ

There is none but Him

Say O Huwa

مولاي تجلى

قلَبي سُكْناهو

My Master, reveal Yourself

My heart finds peace in Him

حاشا وكلا

قُليبي ينساهو

Never and no way

My heart will forget Him

مولى الموالي

هُ يعلمْ حالي

Master of masters

He knows my state

عطفاً بحالي

بالوصال أوفى لي

Kindly to my state

With union He was true to me

قم عظم الله

الواحد العالي

Rise, Allah is great

The One, The Exalted
