  1. مَحْبوبي قد تجَّلى

    في قلبي لَمْ يغيبْ

    My beloved has appeared

    In my heart, never absent

  2. وأنا بكاسي نمْلاَ

    خمراً مُزِجْ بطيبْ

    As I sip gently

    Wine infused with perfume

  3. لقد سكنْ في داري

    وصار لي نصيب

    He has dwelled in my abode

    And become my fortune

  4. وأنا في مَنَارِي

    الحاضِرِ الغاييب

    While I in my minaret

    The present, the absent

  5. قد صرتُ في مداري

    اسْكرْ واهيم وطيب

    I have become in my orbit

    Intoxicated, rapturous, delightful

  6. ريتْ المعاني تَجْلى

    والشكلُ قد حُجيب

    I wish meanings would appear

    While forms remain veiled

  7. وكاسي قد تملا

    ودنِّي قد سُكيب

    My cup has filled up

    My bosom has poured forth

  8. تجلتِ المعاني

    وغابتِ الظِلاَل

    Meanings have appeared

    While shadows have vanished

  9. وكُسر الأواني

    ومُزِّقَ المِثالْ

    Vessels are shattered

    Examples torn apart

  10. وفيَّا قد تراني

    في عَقِبِ الزالْ

    And through me you can see

    In the wake of decline

  11. يا طالبي تخلى

    عن قالب القليبْ

    O my seeker, leave

    The mold of illusion

  12. ترقى المقامَ الأعلى

    والمنزلَ الرحيبْ

    Ascend to the highest station

    And most spacious dwelling

  13. تدخْلِ لديرِ عالِي

    في أرفع العلا

    Enter the lofty monastery

    To the highest summit

  14. مجموعٌ من الغوالي

    منظومٌ من الحلا

    A collection of revelations

    A composition of beauty

  15. تُسقى من الزلالِ

    كاسٌ لكَ اقبلا

    You are given to drink from the pure

    A cup, come accept

  16. تدخلْ لِحَيْ ليلى

    وروضِها الخصيبْ

    Enter the garden of Layla

    And her fertile meadow

  17. تبدو إِليكَ تُجلى

    بحسنِها العجِيبْ

    She will appear and unveil to you

    With her wondrous beauty

  18. يا خِلي يا رفيقي

    قَرِّبْ ترى عجبْ

    O my dear friend

    Come closer, behold the marvel

  19. للمحفَل الحقيقي

    والدَّنِ والطربْ

    Of the true gathering

    And the intimacy and rapture

  20. واسلكْ على الطريق

    تصلْ بلا تعب

    And tread the path

    You will arrive without toil

  21. وادنو بغيرِ مهلهْ

    لحضرةِ الحبيبْ

    And approach swiftly

    The court of the Beloved

  22. تُخلع عليك حُلَّه

    تنكى بها الرقِيبْ

    Robes will be bestowed on you

    With which to confound the critic

  23. ادنو مع الحبايبْ

    للمنزل المُنيفْ

    Approach with the loved ones

    To the gentle dwelling

  24. واصعدْ على مراتبْ

    المجد واتّصيِفْ

    And ascend the degrees

    Of glory and intimacy

  25. ترَى منَ العجائبْ

    ما لَمْ تَطِق تصيِف

    You will behold marvels

    Beyond powers of intimacy

  26. إِن شِئْتَ أن تُوَلِّي

    كلُّ الدُّعا مُجيبْ

    If you wish to devote

    All supplication responds

  27. وتَغْتَني وَتمْلاَ

    من فنِّنا الغريبْ

    And be enriched and filled

    From our strange arts

  28. تَرَى الوجودْ موجودْ

    والواجِدْ اندثرْ

    You will see existence existent

    While the Exister has vanished

  29. وما سِواكْ مفقودْ

    ومَنْ بَدا ظهرْ

    And naught but You remains

    And whoever appeared, vanished

  30. اعقِد لِوَاكْ وانفردْ

    مع السِّويِ النَظرْ

    Bind yourself to Yourself alone

    And gaze at the Eternal

  31. فمن عَذَلْ يُوَلي

    ومَن فَقَد يُصِيبْ

    For whoever is rejected attains

    And whoever loses gains

  32. ومَن وصَلْ تَجَلِّى

    ومَن بَعَدْ قَريبْ

    And whoever unites appears

    And whoever is far is near

  33. تراكَ فيك ظاهرْ

    وحرفُكْ انطماسْ

    You see yourself in Yourself manifest

    While Your creation is erased

  34. وتحتفي المظاهرْ

    وتُحْجَبْ الحَوَاسْ

    And phenomena celebrate

    While senses are veiled

  35. وما سوَاك داثرْ

    فخذْ في الاحتراس

    And naught but You remains

    So be on your guard

  36. إِياك تبُوحْ أصلاً

    بسرِّكَ المريبْ

    Never reveal your secret

    Or you will be tried and tested

  37. فتُمتحنْ وتُبْلَى

    وكنْ أمينْ لبيبْ

    But be loyal and wise
