After your death, my father, I did not expect

    With grief-blinded emotions,

That I would thirst for life and drink

    From its fiery, exuberant river,

And return to the world with a fluttering heart

    For love, joy and music,

And everything in the universe of the images of bliss

And wonders of passions and ecstasies,

Until years passed and the charms of life came

    With its enchanting, tempting magic,

And I still remain a child, fascinated

    By pursuing lights and colors,

While pessimism about life and rejecting it

Is a kind of raving delirium.

Indeed, the son of Adam in his innermost being

Is a true believer in life's servitude.
