The dawn arrived singing
Morning has arrived, singing
To the sleepy life
To life that is still drowsy,
While the meadows dream in the shade
And the hills dream within the shadow
Of the withering branches
Of the swaying boughs,
And the breeze dances the leaves
And the breeze makes the leaves dance
Of the dried flowers
Of the withered flowers,
And the light sways
And the light glides gracefully into
In those gloomy ravines
Those dark, deep ravines.
The dawn arrived beautifully
Morning has arrived, beautiful,
Filling the horizon with its splendor
Filling the horizon with its splendor;
So the flowers and birds fluttered
So the flowers and birds stretch themselves,
And the waves of water
As do the waves of the water.
The living world has awakened
The living world has awakened
And sang to life
And sung to life;
So awake my ewes
So wake up, my sheep,
And come my lambs
And come along, my ewes,
And follow me my lambs
And follow me, my flock,
Among the flocks of birds
Amidst the swarms of birds,
And fill the valley with bleating
And fill the valley with your bleating,
And joy and rams
With frolic and with joy.
And listen to the murmur of the brooks
Listen to the whisper of the brooks,
And breathe in the scent of flowers
And inhale the flowers' scent,
And see the valley covered
And gaze at the valley covered by
By the shining mist
The luminous mist.
And pick from all the land
Graze upon the earth's grass,
And its new pastures
And its fresh, new pasture,
And listen to my youthfulness singing
And listen to my reed flute singing
With the honeyed chant
Its honeyed song.
A melody rises from my heart
A melody rising from my heart
Like the breath of roses
Like the breath of roses,
Then it soars like a happy bulbul
Then soaring high like a nightingale,
And when we come to the forest
The happy, singing bird.
And the trees cover us
And when we reach the forest
Then pick what you wish
And the trees shelter us,
Of grass, flowers and fruit
Graze as you wish upon the grass,
The sun nursed it with light
The flowers, and the fruit;
And the moon fed it
Suckled by the sun with light,
And it drank from the dewdrops
And nourished by the moon,
At the time of dawn
Quenched by the dewdrops of the shade
And roam as you wish in the valleys
At the hour of dawn.
Or atop the hills
Frolic as you please in the valleys,
And crouch in their ample shade
Or atop the hills,
If you fear boredom
And lie down in their lush shade
And chew on the grasses and thoughts
If you fear fatigue.
In the silence of the shadows
Chew upon the grass and thoughts
And listen to the wind singing
In the silence of the shadows,
In the pipes of the mountains
And listen to the wind singing
For in the forest are flowers
Amongst the mountain peaks.
And herbs of torment
For within the forest are blossoms
Around which the bees hum
And grasses sweet to taste,
Enchanting songs
Around which the bees chant
Their pure fragrance not defiled
Their enchanting songs.
By the breaths of wolves
Their pure fragrance has not been defiled
Nor did the fox roam them
By the breath of wolves,
In some plains
Nor has the fox prowled amongst them
And sweet scent, magic,
With any of his pack.
Peace and shade
But rather sweet perfume, and magic,
And an enchanting breeze, gentle gait
And peace, and shade,
Delight abounds
And a breeze with a magical step,
And branches that dance with light
Full of coquettish grace,
And beauty
And branches upon which light
And eternal greenery
And beauty dance,
That nights don't erase
And an eternal greenness
You won't tire my ewe
That nights cannot erase.
In the forest's shady refuge
You shall not weary, my sheep,
For the forest's time is a playful child
In the sanctuary of the shady wood,
Sweet and beautiful
For forest time is a playful child,
While people's time is an old man
Sweet and beautiful.
With a difficult, sullen face
But the time of men is an old man,
Who walks in boredom
Frowning-faced and heavy,
Over those plains
Walking in weariness
You have your pasture in the forests
Over those plains.
And your beautiful surroundings
Yours in the forests is the pasture
While I have my singing and playing
And the beautiful path,
Until twilight
And mine is the singing and playing
And when the shade of the thin vegetation grows long
Until the time of sunset.
Then let's return our walk
And when the shadows lengthen
To the noble, living one
Over the tender, slender grass,
Come, let us turn our steps back
To the noble hamlet.
