You are like a beautiful flower in the forest
You are like a lovely flower in the wild,
But between thorns and worms
Yet standing amidst thorns and worms alike,
And the winds think your love is evil
Where basil blooms mistake the wicked briar,
And the worms are kinds of roses
And count the crawling worms as kin to roses.
So understand people, people are a creation
So understand mankind, for truly they are creatures,
Corrupting existence, not guided
Spreading corruption, misguided in this world.
And the happy one, the happy one, is one who lives like the night
And truly happy is the one who lives like the night,
A stranger to the people of this existence
A stranger among the dwellers of this realm.
And leave them living in the darkness of sin
Leave them to dwell within the gloom of sin,
While you live in your praised purity
While you exist in your praiseworthy purity.
Like an innocent angel, like a white rose
Like an innocent angel, like a white rose,
Like a wave in the distant seashore
Like a wave upon the distant, open sea.
Like birds' songs, like the charming sunset
Like the songs of birds, like the enchanting twilight,
Like a far happy star
Like a planet, far away and blissful.
Like mountain snow covered in light
Like mountain snows submerged in radiant light,
Rising above the dust of the ground
That rise high above the dust of the earth below.
You under the sky are a beautiful soul
Beneath these heavens, you are a beautiful soul,
God has made from the scent of flowers
Fashioned by God from the fragrance of roses.
While the earth's sons are like apes
While earth's children are like apes—and how wasted,
And did not scent the flowers among the apes
Is the perfume of roses amongst the apes.
You are from God's pen so do not cast
You are drawn by the brush of the Divine, so do not cast,
The art of heaven to the ignorance of slaves
The art of the heavens before the ignorance of slaves.
You were not created for people to approach you
You were not created for common men to draw near,
But to be worshipped from afar
But rather to be worshipped from afar.
