وَما ضَرَبَت عُتبى لِذَنبٍ أَتَت بِهِ

وَلَكِنَّما وَلّادَةٌ تَشتَهي ضَربي

I see no harm in myself, though each event

I meet resembles ill; so divers persons

فَقامَت تَجُرُّ الذَيلَ عاثِرَةً بِهِ

وَتَمسَحُ طَلَّ الدَمعِ بِالعَنَمِ الرَطبِ

Have divers sentiments; their actions' secrets

Are dividuous in unlike varieties.
