لَكَ الْبُشْرَى بِتَيْسِيرِ الْمَرَامِ

وَنَيْلِكَ مَا تُرِيدُ عَلَى التَّمَامِ

Glad tidings to you for the facilitation of your desires,

And your attainment of what you wish in full perfection.

بِحَمْدِ اللهِ أَصْبَحَتِ الَّليَالِي

تَقُودُ لَكَ الأَمَانِي فِي زِمَامِ

Praise be to God, the nights have now become

Leading hopes to you by their reins.

بِحَوْلِ اللهِ أَضْحَى كُلُّ صَعْبٍ

ذَلُولاً فِي مَطَاوَعَةِ الإِمَامِِ

By God's power, every hardship has become

Docile in obedience to the Imam.

بِفَضْلِ اللهِ ذَلَّ لَكَ الْمُنَاوِي

وَإِنْ سَكَنَ الْبَوَاذِخَ مِنْ شَمَامِ

By God's grace, your adversary has been humbled before you,

Even if he dwells in the towering peaks of Shamam.

فَأَظْفَرَكَ الإِلَهُ بِكُلِّ بَاغٍ

وَأَخْدَمَكَ الْمُلُوكَ مِنَ الأَنَامِ

Thus God granted you victory over every transgressor,

And made the kings of mankind serve you.

وَأَسْمَعَكَ الْهَوَاتِفَ باِلتَّهَانِي

وَلَقَّاكَ الْبَشَائِرَ بِالدَّوَامِ

He made you hear the callers offering congratulations,

And caused you to meet with good omens continually.

وَأَبْقَى كَعْبَكَ الْمَيْمُونَ يَسْمُو

سُمُوّاً لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي بَالِ سَامَ

He kept your auspicious standing ever soaring,

A soaring that never crossed the mind of any seeker of heights.

وَأَبْقَى سَعْيَكَ الْمَحْمُودَ زَارٍ

علَى أَهْلِ الْمَشَارِقِ وَالشَّآمِ

He kept your praiseworthy endeavor outshining

The people of the Orient and the Levant.

إِذَا نُسِبُوا لِهَدْيِكَ كُنْتَ مِنْهُمْ

بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْحَلاَلِ مِنَ الْحَرَامِ

If they are compared to your guidance, you are among them

Like the pure and permissible compared to the forbidden.

وَكُنْتَ الذَّاتَ بَيْنَهُمُ الْمُسَمَّى

أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَهُمْ أَسَامِ

You were the very essence among them, the one named

Commander of the Faithful, while they are mere empty names.

وَكُنْتَ التِّبْرَ بَيْنَهُمُ الْمُصَفَّى

وَكَانُوا عِنْدَ ذَاكَ مِنَ الرُّغَامِ

You were the purified gold dust among them,

While they, compared to that, were mere dirt.

وَكَانُوا مِنْ هُرَاءِ الْقَوْلِ نَثْراً

وَكُنْتَ الْمُسْتَجَادَ مِنَ النِّظَامِ

They were, in their nonsensical speech, like scattered prose,

While you are the most exquisite of structured verse.

فَنِعْمَ الْغَيْثُ سَيْبُكَ وَهْوَ هَامٍ

وَقَدْ حُسِبَ الْكِرَامُ مِنَ اللِّئَامِ

How excellent a rain is your bounty when it pours,

Even when the generous are counted among the base.

وَنِعْمَ الْبَحْرُ فَضْلُكَ وَهْوَ طَامٍ

إِذَا قَالَ الثَّنَاءُ بِكَ اعْتِصَامِي

How excellent a sea is your grace when it overflows,

Whenever praise declares: "In you is my refuge."

وَنِعْمَ الْبَدْرُ وَجْهُكَ حِينَ يُمْسِي

وَقَدْ عَاضَ اللِّثَامَ بِالاِبْتِسَامِ

How excellent a full moon is your face when evening falls,

Having replaced its veil with a radiant smile.

وَإِنْ كَشَفَتْ لَظَى الْهَيْجَاءِ سَاقاً

فَنِعْمَ النَّجْدُ مِنْ بَطَلٍ تَِهَامِ

And if the blazing fire of war bares its leg,

How excellent is the bravery of a champion from Tihama.

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ فَضْلٍ

بِأَنَّ الْفَضْلَ فَضْلَكَ جِدُّ نَامِ

Is it with you? May every virtue last with you,

For virtue is truly your virtue, ever growing.

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ خَيْرٍ

بِأَنَّ الْخَيْرَ قَالَ بِكَ ارْتِسَامِي

Is it with you? May every goodness last with you,

For goodness has declared: "By you I am patterned."

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ مَجْدٍ

بِأَنَّ الْمَجْدَ قَالَ بِكَ اهْتِمَامِي

Is it with you? May every glory last with you,

For glory has declared: "In you is my sole concern."

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ مَدْحٍ

بِأَنَّ الْمَدْحَ قَالَ بِكَ اِئْتِمَامِي

Is it with you? May every praise last with you,

For praise has declared: "By you I am guided."

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ سَعْدٍ

بِأَنَّ السَّعْدَ أَمَّكَ مِنْ أَمَامِ

Is it with you? May every fortune last with you,

For fortune has sought you out from the very front.

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ يُمْنٍ

بِأَنَّ الْيُمْنَ خَصَّكَ بِالْغَرَامِ

Is it with you? May every blessing last with you,

For blessing has singled you out with deep devotion.

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ عٍِّز

بِأَنَّ الْعِزَّ عِزَّكَ فِي انْتِظَامِ

Is it with you? May every might last with you,

For might is truly your might, in perfect order.

أَعِنْدَكَ دَامَ عِنْدَكَ كُلُّ نَصْرٍ

بِأَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَفْضُوضُ الْخِتَامِ

Is it with you? May every victory last with you,

For victory has its seal finally broken.

يَفُوحُ أَرِيجُهُ فِي كُلِّ وَقْتٍ

لِكُلِّ مُبَرَّإٍ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَامِ

Its fragrance diffuses at every moment,

For every soul absolved of any blame.

يَوَدُّونَ الْمَلاَذَ وِدَادَ مُضْنىً

أَرَّقَتْهُ الصَّبَابَةَ لِلْهُيَامِ

They desire the refuge, with the longing of an exhausted lover,

Kept awake by passionate adoration, driven to madness.

وَيَعْتَقِدُونَ وُدَّكَ فَرْضَ عَيْنٍ

وَأَنَّ سَنَاكَ مِصْبَاحُ الظَّلاَمِ

And they believe that loving you is an absolute obligation,

And that your radiance is the lamp of the darkness.

وَأَنَّ الدِّينَ قَبْلَكَ كَانَ شَيْخاً

فَصَارَ الدِّينُ فِي زَيِّ الْغُلاَمِ

And that religion before you was a frail old man,

But now religion has assumed the garb of a youth.

وَأَنَّ الْحِلْمَ قَبْلَكَ كانَ مَيْتاً

فَعَادَ الْحِلْمُ مُعْتَدِلَ الْقَوَامِ

And that forbearance before you was dead,

But now forbearance has returned with an upright stature.

وَأَنَّ الْحِفُظَ حِفْظَ اللهِ رَبِّي

لِرَبْعِ عُلاَكَ يَامَوْلاَيَ حَامِ

And that protection is the protection of God, my Lord,

Guarding the courtyard of your eminence, O my master.

وَأَنَّ السِّتْرَ سِتْرَ اللهِ أَضْحَى

عَلَى مَغْنَاكَ مَسْدُولَ الْقِرَامِ

And that the veil is the veil of God, which has become

Drawn as a curtain over your grand abode.

وَأَنَّ الْفَضْلَ فَضْلَ اللهِ أَمْسَى

بِعُقْرِ ذَرَاكَ مُنْسَجِمَ الْغَمَامِ

And that grace is the grace of God, raining down

In the heart of your sanctuary like a pouring cloud.

وَأَنَّ الرُّشْدَ وَالتَّوْفِيقَ مَالاَ

لِمَنْ وَالاَكَ مَيْلَةَ مُسْتَهَامِ

And that true guidance and success have leaned

Toward whoever aligns with you, like the leaning of an infatuated lover.

وَأَنَّ الْفُلْجَ وَالإِسْعَادَ قَالاَ

لِمَنْ يَهْوَاكَ حَيَّ عَلَى الِّلزَامِ

And that triumph and happiness have called out

To whoever loves you: "Come to the lasting bond!"

وَأَنَّ الْيُمْنَ وَالإِقْبَالَ صَاحَا

بِمَرْأَى الْبَخْتِ يَا بُشْرَى الْهُمَامِ

And that blessing and prosperity have shouted

At the sight of good fortune: "Glad tidings to the great leader!"

فَلاَ بَرِحَتْ تُقَادُ لَهُ الأَمَانِي

عَلَى وِفْقِ الْمَنَاقِبِ وَالْمُقَامِ

So may wishes never cease to be led to him,

In a manner befitting such virtues and high station.
