كُنْ عَاذِلِي أَوْ لاَ
فَالنَّشْرُ فَاحْ
Reproach me or do not,
For the fragrance has spread
مِنَ الأَقَاحْ
فَنَشْوَتِي أَوْلَى
From the chamomile;
And my ecstasy is more fitting
مِنْ لَحْيٍ لاَحْ
بَيْنَ الْبِطَاحْ
Than any blame that surfaces
Across the wide plains.
دَرَاهِمُ النَّوْرِ
وَشَّتْ بُرُودْ
The silver coins of blossoms
Have embroidered the robes
خُضْرِ النُّجُودْ
وَنَفْحَةُ الْخَِيْرِي
Of the green highlands,
And the wallflower's breeze
جَاءَتْ تَقُودْ
سَعْدَ السُّعُودْ
Has come leading
The greatest of fortunes.
وَنَغْمَةُ الطَّيْرِ
أَنْسَتْكَ عُودْ
And the bird's melody
Makes you forget the lute
غَيْدَاءَ رُودْ
حَادِي الْمُنَى أَمْلَى
Of a tender, swaying maiden.
The driver of hopes has chanted
آيَ انْشِرَاحْ
ذَاتَ اتِّضَاحْ
Verses of joy,
Brilliantly clear.
لِلَّهِ مَا أَحْلَى
نَشْرَ الأَقَاحْ
By God, how sweet is
The fragrance of the chamomile
مَعَ الصَّبَاحْ
مَا أَبْدَعَ الْبُسْتَانْ
In the morning light.
How wondrous is the garden,
قَدِ اكْتُسِي بِالسُّنْدُسِ
مُكَلَّلَ الأَفْنَانْ
Clothed in fine silk brocade,
Its branches crowned
فِي عُرُسِ بِالنَّرْجِسِ
فَطَيْرُهُ النَّشْوَانْ
In a wedding of narcissus.
And its intoxicated bird
لاَ يَأْتَسِي بِمَنْ نُسِي
فَاطْرَبْ بِهِ كَيْ لاَ
Does not mourn the forgotten.
So delight in it, lest you
تُرْضِي اللُّوَاحْ
فَهْوَ النَّجَاحْ
Satisfy the blamers,
For this is true triumph.
وَلاَ تُطِعْ نَذْلاَ
يَرَى الْجُنَاحْ
And do not obey a wretched soul
Who sees a sin
فِي الاِرْتِيَاحْ
In finding joy.
