We plucked gold from lilies
We have plucked gold from verdant silk,
And extracted dusk from henna blossoms
And claimed a twilight glow from the deepest dark,
And hunted, amid flowers of the meadow,
And captured, among the blossoms of the hills,
The delight of the eye and the joy of the soul
The delight of the eyes and the splendor of souls.
