Oh what nights for me, will you ever come again
Ah, how I yearn for those nights! Will they ever return just as
As once you were, and what night that's passed can be the same?
They once were? And what nights have ever seen their past return?
I've not forgotten you since you departed in your joy
I have not forgotten them since they drew away from me with their splendor,
What pleasures can days offer that would make me forget?
And what delight in the passing days could ever make me forget them?
