With my soul I ransom the one whose love has ruined my reason,

And cups of nectar could offer me no solace from him.

He grants me union until I awake from my burning anguish,

Then forsakes me until I choke on my very breath.

Through him, between his embraces and his rejections, I have come to dwell

In an abode of bliss or the torment of a burning fire.
