O my master, who holds absolute sway over my entire being,

And who is adorned in a dazzling mantle of glory,

How deserving I was of an abundant share

From the vast, overflowing sea of your benevolence.

I would complain, if only my mind possessed itself

So that I might distinguish my inner self from my outer.

My heart has become, O my refuge, completely empty

Of the overflowing life that once made it thrive.
