I fear that I may remain while no merit of yours remains for me,
I have feared that I might live on, while there no longer remains for me
O You of bounty and fortune!
Your grace, O Possessor of bounty and bestowal;
So spare me from the disgrace of my shortcoming,
So I would reap humiliation from my utter destitution,
And send to me clouds of exaltation,
And I would draw forth the dark clouds of affliction,
Saturated with pouring rain,
Pouring down unceasingly with their torrential rains,
And I seek warmth in blazing embers,
And I would burn in the embers of deep anxiety;
Then the burning anguish becomes more intense,
Then the burning of my mind would be redoubled,
So I gain the frustration of hopes.
And I would harvest the bitter disappointment of my hopes,
Thus I buy retreat for attack,
Trading my prosperity for wretched decline,
And I don the garments of error,
And draping myself in the cloaks of misguidance,
So I end up with the clay of disgrace,
Until I end up in the mire of utter perdition,
With the purchased evil deeds.
Through the accumulation of my evil deeds.
Veil me, O You of forbearance and glory!
I beg Your protective veil, O Possessor of clemency and grace!
