لَمْ يَشِنْهُ التَّحْرِيفُ فِي عَيْنِ عَاقِلْ

What is the name of a thing whose shape is slanted and leaning,

Appearing between folds and dotted lines

A slant that does not mar it in the eyes of the wise?

يَتَجَلَّى مَا بَيْنَ طَوْرٍ وَرَقْمٍ

مُسْفَرَ الْوَجْهِ هَائِجاً لِلدَّوَاخِلْ

With face uncovered, stirring the inward soul

It reveals itself between a boundary and an inscription,

With a radiant face, stirring the inner depths.
