1. أَيَا مَنْ فِيهِ لِلظَّمْآنِ رَيُّ

    وَمَنْ عَلْيَاهُ لِلدُّنْيَا حُلِيُّ

    O you in whom the thirsty find their quenching draught,

    And whose exalted nature is an ornament to the world,

  2. وَمَنْ جَلَّى سَنَا شَمْسِ الْمَعَانِي

    وَمَنْ نُورُ الْفَضَاءِ بِهِ جَلِيُّ

    And who unveiled the splendor of the sun of meanings,

    And by whom the light of the vast expanse is made manifest;

  3. مُحِبُّكُمُ الذِي قُدْتُمْ هَوَاهُ

    كَمَا قَادَتْ هَوَى غَيْلاَنَ مَيُّ

    Your lover, whose passion you have led,

    Just as Mayya led the passion of Ghailan,

  4. أَضَافَتْهُ ضَرُورَتُهُ إِلَى مَنْ

    يَمُوتُ عَلَى الشَّهَادَةِ وَهْوَ حَيُّ

    His compelling need has driven him to one

    Who dies a martyr while he is still alive.
