أَمْلَى الْهَنَا وَالسَّعْدُ رَدَّدْ

نَصْرٌ لِمَوْلاَنَا مُؤَبَّدْ

Hope and happiness echoed,

Joy dictated, and fortune repeated,

Victory for our master forever.

A perpetual victory for our Lord.

وَسَعادَةٌ مَعْقُودَةٌ

بِبُنُودِهِ فِي كلِّ مَشْهَدْ

And happiness tied

And happiness tied

With his clauses in every scene.

To his banners in every scene.

وَسَلاَمَةٌ تُهْدِي لَهُ الْ

آمَالَ وَاضِحَةَ الْمُقَلَّْد

And safety that gives him

And safety that gifts him the

Clear hopes firmly tied.

Hopes, with clear adornments.

وَصَرَامَةٌ تَجْنِي لَهُ

زَهْرَ الْمُنَى مِنْ كُلِّ مَقْصَدْ

And firmness that reaps for him

And strictness that harvests for him

The flower of purpose from every aim.

The flowers of desire from every destination.

وَعَزَائِمٌ تَسْبِي لَهُ الْ

أَعْدَاءَ مِنْ مَثْنىً وَمَوْحَدْ

And resolves that capture for him

And resolves that capture for him the

The enemies two by two and one by one.

Enemies, in pairs and one by one.

وَغَنَائِمٌ تُسْبَى لَهُ

مِمَّنْ عَنِ الأَذْعَانِ عَرَّدْ

And spoils taken from those

And spoils taken as booty for him

Who rebelled against obeying.

From those who shied away from submission.

مَوْلايَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ مَنْ

جُنْدُ الإِلَهِ بِهِ مُؤَيَّدْ

The soldiers of God support.

The army of God is supported.

مَوْلايَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ مَنْ

جَمْعُ الْعُدَاةِ بِهِ مُبَدَّدْ

The group of enemies is scattered by.

The gathering of enemies is scattered.

مَلِكٌ عَلاَ فَوْقَ الْعُلاَ

وَالْعَفْوُ عَنْ ذِي الْجُرْمِ يَشْهَدْ

A king high above the high

A king who rose above all heights,

And pardoning the guilty he witnesses.

And his pardoning of the guilty bears witness.

مَلِكٌ تَنَاهَى حَمْدُهُ

إِذْ لَيْسَ مَا فِي النَّاسِ يُحْمَدْ

A king whose praise is boundless

A king whose praise has reached its utmost limit,

For nothing among people is praiseworthy.

Since there is nothing among people more praiseworthy.

فَالسَّعْدُ مِنْ أَنْصَارِهِ

وَالْحِلْمُ رَائِدُهُ الْمُسَدَّدْ

And happiness is from his supporters

Fortune is among his supporters,

And clemency his guided leader.

And forbearance is his unerring guide.

وَلَهُ مِنَ الرُّعْبِ الذِي

يُفْنِي العِدَا جُنْدٌ مُجَنَّدْ

And he has from the awe that

And he has a terror that

Annihilates the enemies an enlisted army.

Annihilates the enemies like a mobilized army.

أَوْ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ خَيْ

رِ الْخَلْقِ مَوْلاَنَا مُحَمَّدْ

Or isn't he from the best of people

Is he not of the sons of the best

Our master Muhammad.

Of creation, our Lord Muhammad?

صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ اللهُ مَا

دَامَتْ مَوَاهِبُهُ تًجَدَّدْ

May God bless him

May God bless him as long as

As long as his gifts renew.

His gifts continue to be renewed.

وَالرُّعْبُ كَانَ يَؤُمُّهُ

شَهْراً فَيَخْذُلُ كُلَّ مُبْعَدْ

And awe went around him

And terror would precede him

A month, so every distant one weakened.

By a month's journey, defeating every distant foe.

لاَ بِدْعَ فِي أَنْ يَقْتَنِي

مَا لِلأَبِ الْوَلَدُ الْمُمَجَّدْ

No wonder that he acquires

It is no wonder that the glorified son

What the glorious son gets from the father.

Inherits what belongs to the father.

يَغْشَى الْوَغَى مُسْتَبْشِراً

وَالْبَأْسُ مِنْهَا قَدْ تَوَقَّدْ

He attacks the madness happily

He plunges into battle rejoicing,

And prowess from it has sparked.

While its fury has already ignited.

وَالضَّرْبُ أَبْرَقَ ثُمَّ أَرْعَدْ

وَالطَّعْنُ أَتْهَمَ ثُمَّ أَنْجَدْ

And the strike lightened then thundered,

And the striking of swords flashed with lightning, then thundered.

And the stabs accused then helped.

And the thrusting of spears reached the lowlands, then the highlands.

وَالسُّمْرُ تُغْرَسُ فِي الْكُلَى

وَالْبِيضُ فِي الأَعْنَاقِ تُغْمَدْ

And the spears are planted in the kidneys,

And the brown spears are planted in the kidneys,

And the swords in the necks are sheathed.

And the white swords are sheathed in the necks.

وَالأَرْضُ تُكْسَى حُلَّةً

بِدَمِ الْمُجَدَّلِ وَالْمُقَدَّدْ

And the earth is covered in a garment

And the earth is clothed in a garment

With the blood of the brave and the subdued.

With the blood of the felled and the sliced.

فَهُنَاكَ يَزْهَدُ فِي الدُّنَى

إِذْ لَيْسَ فِي الإِقْدَامِ يَزْهَدْ

There he disdains worldliness

There, he renounces the world,

Since there is no disdain in daring.

As he does not renounce advancing bravely.

وَهُنَاكَ يَعْظُمُ بِشْرُهُ

وَالْوَيْلُ مِنْهُ لِكُلِّ أَصْيَدْ

And there his good news is great

And there, his gladness grows immense,

And woe from it to every prey.

And woe from him to every haughty one.

فَيَفُلُّ جَمْعَ كُمَاتِهَا

وَيَحُلُّ مِنْهَا مَا تَعَقَّدْ

So their groups weaken

So he breaks the ranks of its champions,

And what solidified unravels.

And unties from it what was knotted.

يَثْنِي نََجاةَ مَنِ انْثَنَى

وَيَقُدُّ جِلْدَةَ مَنْ تَجَلَّدْ

He folds the safety of whoever bent

He thwarts the escape of those who turn away,

And skins the hide of whoever was obstinate.

And cuts through the skin of him who shows endurance.

وَاللَّيْثُ أَبْطَشُ مَا يَكُو

نُ إِذْ تَبَسَّمَ أَوْ تَأَوَّدْ

And the lion pounces when

And the lion is at his fierce-

He smiles or befriends.

-st when he smiles or flexes his body.

شَبِّهْ بِهِ الْمِقْدَامَ لَيْ

ثَ اللهِ حَمْزَةَ ذَا الْمُهَنَّدْ

Liken to him the daring

Compare to him the brave li-

Lion of God Hamza the intrepid.

-on of God, Hamza, wielder of the Indian sword,

أَوْ جَدَّهُ الْمَوْلَى أَبَا

حَسَنٍ يُدَمِّرُ مَنْ تَمَرَّدْ

Or his creation Abu

Or his ancestor, the Lord Abu

Hassan who destroys whoever rebelled.

Hasan, destroying whoever rebelled.

أَوْ فَارِسَ الْيَرْمُوكِ سَيْ

فَ اللهِ خَالِداً الْمُخَلَّدْ

Or the horseman of Yarmouk the sword of God Khalid the eternal.

Or the knight of Yarmouk, the Sword

Or the owner of zulfiqar the

Of God, the immortalized Khalid.

أَوْ صَاحِبَ الصَّمْصَامِ لَيْ

ثَ الْقَادِسِيَّةِ حِينَ يَنْهَدْ

Lion of al-Qadisiya when it rages.

Or the bearer of the sharp sword, the li-

Or his creation the pure

-on of Al-Qadisiyyah, when he rises up.

أَوْ جَدَّهُ النَّفْسَ الزَّكِ

يَّةَمِنْ سَنَا الْمَنْصُورِ أَخْمَدْ

Soul from the spear throw of Mansur extinguished.

Or his ancestor, the Pure So-

Leave mentioning Bostam

-ul, whose light eclipsed the splendor of Al-Mansur.

دَعْ ذِكْرَ بَسْطَامٍوَعَنْتَ

رَةَ الْفَوَارِسِ حِينَ يَحْرَدْ

And Antara the horsemen when it neighs.

Leave the mention of Bastam and 'Anta-

And Rabia bin Mukaddam

-rah of the knights when he becomes furious.

وَرَبِيعَةَ بْنِ مُكَدَّمٍ

وَدُرَيْدِهِمْ وَأَخِيهِ مَعْبَدْ

And their Durayd and his brother Ma'bad.

And Rabi'ah ibn Mukaddam,

And playful with the tongues

And their Duraid and his brother Ma'bad,

وَمُلاَعِبٍ لأَِسِنَّةٍ

وَابْنِ الطُّفّيْلِ خَلِيلِ أَرْبَدْ

And Ibn al-Tufayl friend of Arbad.

And the Player with Spears,

This playful with the tongues when

And the son of Al-Tufayl, the companion of Arbad.

هَذَا الْمُلاَعِبُ لِلأَسِ

نَّةِ إِذْ جَبِينُ الْحَرْبِ أَسْوَدْ

The face of war is gloomy.

He is the true player with the spear-

This collided, resisted, aimed and supported.

-heads when the brow of war turns black.

هَذَا الْمُصَادِمُ وَالْمُقَا

وِمُ وَالْمُسَدَّدُ وَالْمُؤَيَّدْ

This striker, this stabber, the virtue of this cannot be denied.

This is the clashing and the resist-

This straightener of his spear

-ing warrior, the guided and the supported.

هَذَا الْمُضَارِبُ وَالطَّا

عِنُ فَضْلُ هَذَا لَيْسَ يُجْحَدْ

In the weak spot of the obstinate hero.

This is the smiter and the pierc-

This disperser of whoever

-ing one, whose excellence cannot be denied.

هَذَا الْمُقَوَّمُ رُمْحَهُ

فِي ثَغْرَةِ الْبَطَلِ الْمُزَرَّدْ

Went astray in misguidance when it loved.

This is the one who straightens his spear

This lifter of every banner

In the upper chest of the chain-mailed hero.

هَذَا الْمُبَدِّدُ مَنْ تَأَ

لَّبَ فِي الْغَوَايَةِ إِذْ تَوَدَّدْ

And defacer of every degenerate.

This is the scatterer of whoever ra-

This arranger whose virtue

-llies in delusion, despite displays of amity.

هَذَا الْمُرَفِّعُ كُلَّ أَرْ

وَعَ وَالْمُعَفِّرُ كُلَّ أَوْغَدْ

Is the necklace of high virtues that scattered.

This is the uplifter of every no-

This who alone attained

-ble hero, and the one who rubs every scoundrel in the dust.

هَذَا الْمُنَظِّمُ فَضْلُهُ

عِقْدَ الْمَعَالِي اللَّذْ تَبَدَّدْ

The jewelry of glories and feats.

This is the one whose grace arranges

This who alone put on

The necklace of high deeds that had scattered.

هَذَا الذِي بِحُلَى الْمَفَا

خِرِ وَالْمَآثِرِ قَدْ تَفَرَّدْ

The finery of eulogies and praises.

This is the one who, with the ornaments of glo-

This who narrates the

-ries and great deeds, stands alone.

هَذَا الذِي بِمُلَى الْمَحَا

مِدِ وَالْمَمَادِحِ قَدْ تَزَرَّدْ

Traditions of virtues from the guided.

This is the one who, with the abundance of prai-

This who our happiness

-ses and eulogies, is armored.

هَذَا الذِي يَرْوِي أَحَا

دِيثَ الْفَضَائِلِ عَنْ مُسَدَّدْ

And return returned with.

This is the one who narrates the tradi-

So our lives because of his existence

-tions of virtues from a guided source.

هَذَا الذِي عَادَتْ بِهِ

أَفْرَاحُنَا وَالْعَوْدُ أَحْمَدْ

By God how relaxed and lush.

This is the one through whom returned

And all of us from his sweet

Our joys, and the return is most praiseworthy.

فَحَيَاتُنَا بِوُجُودِهِ

لِلَّهِ مَا أَهْنَا وَأَرْغَدْ

Springs are not deprived.

For our life, through his existence,

God's caliph whom

By God, how blissful and abundant it is!

وَجَمِيعُنَا عَنْ جُودِهِ الْ

عَذْبِ الْمَوَارِدِ لَيْسَ يُطْرَدْ

All pride is attributed to.

And all of us, from his generosity's

My poetry excelled with your praise

Sweet watering places, are never turned away.

أَخَلِيفَةَ اللهِ الذِي

كُلُّ الْفَخَارِ إِلَيْهِ مُسْنَدْ

Until it disdained the adornment of chrysolite.

O Caliph of God, to whom

It thrived, the harmony of its composition

All glory is attributed!

شِعْرِي ازْدَهَى بِمَدِيحِكُمْ

حَتَّى ازْدَرَى بِحُلَى الزَّبَرْجَدْ

With you over the beaded necklace.

My poetry flourished in your praise,

So drape over its shoulders

Until it looked down upon ornaments of chrysolite.

أَرْبَى تَنَاسُقُ نَظْمِهِ

بِكُمْ علَى الْعِقْدِ الْمُنَضَّدْ

The garments of approval, for with that it thrives.

The harmony of its verses, because of you, surpassed

And protect you from whoever

The beautifully strung necklace.

فَاخْلَعْ عَلَى أَعْطِافِهِ

حُلَلَ الرِّضَى فَبِذَاكَ يَسْعَدْ

Took aim at you with evil or transcended.

So drape upon its sides

And you remained, O sun of guidance,

The robes of approval, for by that it is made happy.

وَقَاكَ مَنْ أَسْمَاكَ مِنْ

شَرٍّ تَصَوَّبَ أَوْ تَصَعَّدْ

Refuge of the haven for whoever professed faith.

May He who raised your name protect you from

And make the commander of the faithful

Any evil that descends or ascends.

وَبَقِيتَ يَا شَمْسَ الْهُدَى

رُكْنَ الْمَلاَذِ لِمَنْ تَشَهَّدْ

Happy and satisfied and give him comfort.

And may you remain, O sun of guidance,

A pillar of refuge for whoever bears witness.

وَاصْعَدْ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِي

نَ وَدُمْ قَرِيرَ الْعَيْنِ وَاسْعَدْ

And ascend, O Commander of the Faith-

-ful, and remain with comforted eyes, and be happy.
