O noble tribe, O honored kin,
O noble, valiant, and chosen leader,
Whose glory weaves a warming spell,
Who has gathered unto himself the vast, flowing cloak of glory,
Rebuke me not for sins long past,
Do not hold me to account for a past offense,
That once my heart embraced, though ill.
Which I committed out of bitterness, not by willing choice,
Absolve me of your censure due,
And dispel the blame upon me through my own repentance, for indeed
For estrangement's fire burned me through.
Estrangement has plunged me into the fierce blaze of the ghada fire.
Gone are the joys your grace once brought,
May you never be stripped, throughout time, of the garments of favor,
O paragon of verse and praise.
O noble one who has commanded the most exquisite of praise,
With perfumed greetings I convey,
And I gift the peace of Allah, sweetly fragrant,
Goodwill, though lightning-like your gaze.
Unto you, for as long as the sharp blade of lightning flashes.
