The worthy one attained the esteemed relics
He has attained enduring glory,
From precious and venerated lands
from both the newly acquired and the ancient.
Oh most virtuous one do good
Abu al-Mahasin has truly excelled
So what he contains is unmatched
in the unparalleled virtues he has gathered.
He whose praise cannot be quantified
He is one whose praises cannot be enumerated,
Not even by the poetry of Labid
not even by the poetry of Labid.
Whoever visited him in yearning
Whoever visits such a valiant hero
Found shelter in his formidable pillar
takes refuge in a mighty pillar,
And attained what he aspires
and attains all that he hopes for
From the Lord of the Majestic Throne
from the Lord of the Glorious Throne.
Without doubt we tread the path
It is no wonder that we have crossed
To him barefoot in humility
towering, desolate deserts to reach him,
You suffice seeking virtue for
seeking the outpouring of grace, the grace
God is the Enricher, the Praiseworthy
of God, the Enricher, the Praiseworthy.
So we visited the sea but
For it is the sea we have visited, but
The sea of the devout aspirant
a sea of willing, sought-after bounty.
And the rain so they are in bounty
And the abundant rain—so aspire to a grace
Beyond that is no increase
beyond which there is no further increase.
