Your words are more graceful than the breeze
Your words—by the gardens bathed in morning dew—
Among the gardens as it whispers
Are gentler than the breezes across their hills,
And more sweet to refined taste
And sweeter to the nostrils of refined taste than what
Than what the roots have extracted in their moisture
The wild gazelles carry upon their graceful necks.
For you are the master of literature
Truly, you are the sovereign of all men of letters;
Its laws have become clear to you from start to end
The ultimate bounds of their disciplines have become manifest to you.
So march on, servant of its Creator, in building it
So elevate its edifice, O servant of His Creator,
And guard, servant of its Creator, in protecting it
And guard its sanctuary, O servant of His Creator.
The gardens of glory never ceased to guide
May the gardens of glory never cease to bestow
To your happiness whatever aroma arises from its branches
Upon your good fortune whatever diffuses of their fragrance.
