I raised my worries to the son of Abu Bakr
I presented the causes of my sorrow to the son of Abu Bakr,
Saeed, and how unaware you are of his great wisdom
Saeed—and how could you know what a righteous judge he is—
That he may save me from what its dispute necessitated
So he might save me from the consequences of her dispute,
With his virtuous, fragrant kindness
Through an act of kindness from his fragrant, sweet-scented goodness,
And he may extinguish the fire of passion in me with a drop
And extinguish the fire of passion within me with a single drop,
That kills ardor from his abundant, pouring kindness
That slays the inner anguish, from the heavy downpour of his grace.
