Send forth the steeds of insight
Unleash the steeds of your gaze,
And learn
And reflect,
And drink the hanging of Solomon
And drink the wine of solace,
And repel the estrangements of others
And ward off the straying shifts of fate,
And let gratitude
And give thanks
Adorn the one who decorated the garden
To Him who embroidered the garden,
Its beauty exposed by the rain
Revealing it after the rain
With flowers
With blossoms,
Wreathed in garlands
Crowned with diadems.
And the bird of good news trilled
And the bird of gladness sang out,
For the happiness has sparked
Because it sparked
The fire of joy early
The flint of hopes—good fortune.
So it unfolded
Visit early the abodes of joy,
Its beauty, the rose
For it has unveiled
And the branches embraced
Their beauty—the rose!
Scattering
And the slender branches embraced,
Jewels of necklaces
Scattering
As if they are pampered
The jewels of their necklaces,
And passionate
As though they were infatuated lovers,
Arrows of longing pierced them
Enthralled by passion,
And the violet's eyes
Whose longings have soared high.
Never sleep
And the violet has eyes
Weeping from dripping
That never slumber,
And the tender narcissus breathed
Weeping from sleeplessness.
When it woke
And the fresh narcissus exhaled its fragrance,
From its blooming, a lover
When it drank the morning draught,
So race the steeds of joy
Yielding a scent of ambergris.
For it has wounded
So spur on the swift steeds of joy,
His cheeks, the rose
For it has wounded
And the gardens of the anemone buzzed
Its cheeks—the rose!
With tender dew
And adorning the cheeks of the anemone
Its drink exhilarates
Is a delicate dew,
As if on carnelian
Whose brilliance dazzles,
A refined pearl
As if upon carnelian
Of the finest jewels
Were elegant pearls
Or a tear from one who embraced his lover
Of the most precious gems,
Complaining of burning
Or the tears of one holding the beloved,
With his red cheek
Complaining of the burning fire
Comforting those who recoiled
Upon his red cheek.
From playfulness
Finding solace in it is the one departed
Respond to the caller of joy
From joy,
For it has wounded
The one whose separation is prolonged.
His cheeks, the rose
Answer the herald of joy,
For it has wounded
Its cheeks—the rose!
