My ode to you, O life and its years,
Your poetry, O my life, O its radiant light,
My soul's wish so it would never lose its desire,
Is the ultimate hope of my soul, so may it never lose its hope.
You remained a fortress for it and for Islam,
May you remain a fortress for it, and for Islam,
Giving comfort from the heat of its suffering.
Whose sun of solace relieves its distress.
My ode and gentleness to you O brother,
Your poetry and elegance, O brother of such grace,
May its pasture never lose you.
May my soul's core, its fertile pasture, never be deprived of you.
I ransom you - do you know that my mind
May I be your ransom! Did you know that my mind
Is captivated by the magic of your poetry since it sensed it?
Is struck down by the wine of your poetry ever since it filled its depths.
