O Abu Jaid, I sailed your sea generously
O Aba Jid, I have set my course toward your bountiful sea,
To quench my thirst from the chain of sweet gifts
To drink deeply from the pure, sweet waters of your gifts.
O Abu Jaid, the best of men, you've now left
O Aba Jid, the neck of my purse has been stripped bare,
While the necklaces of abundance have grown expensive
And the hand of misfortune has snatched away the necklaces of abundance.
