I seek refuge with the Almighty
I seek refuge in the Lord of Might,
From the accursed Satan
From Satan, the persistent tempter,
And from what distracts my thoughts
And from whatever my thoughts might attribute
To frivolity or play
To affliction or to agitation,
And from the evil of one whose
And from the evil of one who forcefully stripped
Cunning has reached its peak
Through deceit the wisdom of the pure,
And from words without action
And from words devoid of deeds,
Whose Lord will humiliate him
And deeds whose doer is disgraced,
And from the poverty of my humble self
And from poverty allied with humiliation,
And from miserliness and inability
And from miserliness and helplessness,
And from what leads to evil
And from whatever might decree evil,
And what leads to disgrace
And whatever is rewarded with indignity,
And from what impedes me
And from what necessitates my banishment
From success or knocks me down
From divine guidance, or my violent rejection,
And all that angers the Lord
And everything that invokes the Lord's anger,
And warrants His punishment
And all that warrants His wrath,
Be it deception or betrayal
Of cunning or of treachery,
Or wickedness or curse
Or of malice or impurity,
And from those who wish me harm
And from those who desire my harm,
And whose friendship is my demise
And those whose affection chokes me like grief,
The fault-finder, the mocker
And from the backbiter and the slanderer,
The sneerer, the taunter
And the detractor and the mocker,
The detractor, the discourter
And the violent pusher and the piercer,
The aggressor, the transgressor
And the striker and the pricker,
The insulter, the disdainer
And the name-caller and the batterer,
The reviler, the defamer
And the restless leaper and the jumper,
The slanderer, the worthless
And the harsh oppressor and the abuser,
And the misfortune that destroys comfort
And a calamity that terrifies with its rumbling,
And the injury on my image
And from the miser who covets my garments,
Worn by the honored and dignified
Of honorable and noble attire,
Be they Arab, foreigner
Whether they be of the Arabs or non-Arabs,
Turk or Kurd
Or of the Turks or the Oghuz,
And from the blood of my sinful self
And from the heavy-witted companion of baseness,
And from the disgrace of my dishonorable soul
And the frivolous one prone to haste,
The wounded without a spear
And one who inflicts wounds without a spear,
The defeated without a fight
And one who cuts without piercing,
The complete failure in the eyes of failure itself
And the plunderer who forcefully strips away
And the going from travel to burden
The garments during the struggle by force,
And from gathering to separation
And from journeying in pursuit of a wild ass,
And from my prevention from benefit
And from galloping towards a miserly man,
And my imprisonment and isolation
And from being hindered from benefit,
And from mocking my humble self
And from my restriction and my confinement,
And from abandoning my lowly state
And from the rigidly dry, stubbornly clinging man,
And what distracts me from Allah
And from the easily startled, aloof one,
Be it nonsense or buffoonery
And from whatever distracts from Allah,
And from softness and corruption
Of luxurious fabrics or of silk,
And from pleasure and decadence
And from excessive softness or from harshness,
And what has worried my concerns
And from sheer ease or from rough austerity,
The smoothness of my body over my ribs
And from the worry that has melted
And from the burial of my shame
The adornment of my body down to the seam,
Whose stench has not diminished from burial
And from a destruction whose sharp blade of
My heart has hardened from sins
Grief never dulls from severing,
That flourish over the burial grounds
My heart has hardened from the sin
Your tenderness is our asylum
That outweighs the heaviest of burdens,
Oh Lord, Hearer of the hidden
Have mercy upon us, O our Master,
My sorrows and troubles
O my Lord, Hearer of the faintest whisper,
Are the teeth of sadness grinding
For it has exhausted me and ruined me,
And it has worn me out as
The spearhead of sorrow, firmly planted,
Wheat is ground, oh You who grants sustenance
And it has worn me out, just as he wears out
To You belongs all praise, to You all thanks
His beasts of burden, the cruel driver,
Oh Most Generous, Most Bountiful
To You belongs all praise, to You belongs all thanks,
Be it for the sweet or the bitter
O Lord of bounty, O Lord of excellence,
Or the slightly sour or the salty
For the sweet and for the bitter,
So be for me, my Master, a helper
For the stinging and for the sour.
Against the sneaky devil
So be for me, my Master, a helper
And be my fortress and be my refuge
Against Satan, the prompter of evil,
And be my wealth and be my treasure
And be my fortress, and be my sanctuary,
And be for me whenever
And be my wealth, and be my treasure,
The matter tends towards evil
And be with me whenever
Forgive me and enliven me
Matters threaten to bring affliction,
With a downpour from Your generosity
And forgive me, and bestow upon me
And inspire me whenever I despair
A downpour of glorious generosity,
With tremendous favor beyond despair
And overflow for me, at every hardship,
Guide me and support me
With a grace too immense to be measured,
In my speech, my gestures
And guide me aright, and support me
My loudness, my subtlety
In my speech and in my silence,
My calm, my composure
In my speaking aloud and in my muttering,
With the sun of the messengers and the full moon of virtue
In my stillness and in my movement,
The pillar of honor and might
By the sun of the messengers, the downpour of
The Messenger of Allah, the Sword of God
Grace, the pillar of glory and might,
Who eliminated the people of curse
The Messenger of Allah, the sword of
A prayer and then peace be upon him
Allah, who annihilated the people of impurity.
Flowing with pure musk
May blessings and then peace be
Upon him, of the most exquisite fashion.
