O eye of the ministry, you who occupy a lofty station,
O leading light of the vizierate, possessor of the lofty station,
You have worn out the children of the sword of time, striking.
The sharpest among the sons of time's severing sword,
Abdullah, your venerable father, whom
The chivalrous Abdullah, your father, who
We hope will frustrate evil omens and undo knots.
Is relied upon to thwart the lying slanderer.
We appeal to you through his merit,
We entreat you by his rightful claim,
O his son, dispelling the enveloping darkness.
O his son, dispeller of pitch-black darkness:
Have you not heard our words and considered
Will you not hear our words and look
The plight of orphans, a ruined lineage?
Into the affair of orphans, the progeny of one who has perished?
Time has abandoned them, O you who seek
Their days have knelt heavily upon them, O you who seek refuge
Refuge in God from the evil of fickle time.
In God from the misfortune of this oppressive time.
And they carry a heavy, ruinous debt
And upon them lies a heavy, kneeling debt,
Between the peak of their neglect and the mover.
Resting right between the peak of their wealth and the withers.
Thus they did not inherit, though you inherited
Therefore they inherited nothing—may you inherit glory—
Only hardship after that legacy.
Except hardship after the departure of the one who left them,
Especially that imprisoned one, for verily he
Especially that imprisoned one, for indeed he
Is on the path of horrors, a clear traveller.
Is the very picture of a traveler on the path of terrors.
And to your station, which humbles the lofty,
And upon your station, before which all other heights are humbled,
Greetings as fragrant as wafting incense.
Be the purest of greetings, like a clinging, fragrant perfume.
