أَبْرَكْتُ آمَالِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ

بِجَانِبِكَ الْعَالِي وَلِيَّ اللهِ

I placed my hopes, son of Abdullah

I have made my hopes kneel, O Son of Abd Allah, beside your exalted presence, O intimate friend of God.

In your lofty side, friend of God

Untie their firm tethers with your generous bounty, O you who possess the honor of the sanctuary and noble rank.

أَطْلِقْ مَتِينَ عُقَالِهَا بِنَوَالِكُمْ

يَا مَنْ لَهُ شَرَفُ الْحِمَى وَالْجَاهِ

Unleash her firm resolve with your help

And pour upon the supplicant the oceans of your generosity, O you whose nobility towers above all peers;

O you of honored protection and status

For the sake of the purest Chosen One, the Messenger of God, the best of all creation among those who command and forbid;

وَأَفِضْ علَى الْعَافِي بُحُورَ نَدَاكُمُ

يَا مَنْ سَمَا شَرَفاً عَلَى الأَشْبَاهِ

And pour upon the healthy your abundant generosity

The dispeller of misguidance through guidance, he whose remembrance is sweeter in the mouth than the finest Barni dates;

O you who ascended in nobility above peers

Whom the Most Merciful singled out from among His servants, with a divine providence attained by no other person of rank.

بِالْمُصْطَفَى الأَزْكَى رَسُولِ اللهِ

خَيْرِ الْوَرَى مِنْ آمِرٍ أَوْ نَاهِ

With the Most Chosen, the Purest, Messenger of God

May He who chose him bestow His enduring blessings upon him, continuous and successive, without end,

The best of creation, commander or advisor

And upon all his family and companions, those who sold their very souls for the mercy of God;

مُجْلِي الضَّلاَلَةِ بِالْهُدَى مَنْ ذِكْرُهُ

أَحْلَى مِنَ الْبَرْنِيِّ فِي الأَفْوَاهِ

Vanquishing misguidance with guidance, his mention

Those whose remembrance cures hearts of their burning thirst, and is sweeter to the desperate than cool waters.

Sweeter than nectar in mouths

And upon your exalted station, from one who has come seeking justice against the actions of an arrogant scoundrel,

مَنْ خَصَّهُ الرَّحْمَانُ دُونَ عِبَادِهِ

بِعِنَايَةٍ مَا حَازَهَا ذُو جَاهِ

He whom the Merciful favored over His servants

Crying out for rescue in your sanctuary, suffering a burning agony whose scorching flames cannot be quenched by water:

With care unmatched by the eminent

Be the purest peace, like sweet perfume and its spreading scent, as long as doves coo upon the branches of the acacia.

أَبْقَى عَلَيْهِ مَنِ اصْطَفَاهُ صَلاَتَهُ

مَوْصُولَةً تَتْرَى بِغَيْرِ تَنَاهِ

Kept His prayers upon him eternally

Continuous, without cessation

وَعَلَى جَمِيعِ الآلِ وَالأَصْحَابِ مَنْ

بَاعُوا نُفُوسَهُمْ بِرُوحِ اللهِ

And upon all his family and companions who

Sold their souls for the soul of God

مَنْ ذِكْرُهُمْ يَشْفِي الْقُلُوبَ مِنَ الصَّدَى

وَأَلَذُّ لِلَّهْفَانِ مِنْ أَمْوَاهِ

Whose remembrance heals hearts from discontent

And is more delightful to the ardent than sweet water

وَعَلَى رَفِيعِ مَقَامِكُمْ مِمَّنْ أَتَى

مُتَظَلِّماً مِنْ فِعْلِ وَغْدٍ زَاهِ

And upon your lofty status, for one who comes

Complaining of the actions of yesterday and tomorrow

مُسْتَصْرِخاً بِحِمَاكُمْ ذَا حُرْقَةٍ

لاَ تَنْطَفِي لَفَحَاتُهَا بِمِيَاهِ

Crying for your protection, burning with no

Relief from the flames but by water

أَزْكَى سَلاَمٍ كَالْعَبِيِرِ وَنَشْرِهِ

مَا رَدَّتْ وُرْقٌ بِقُضْبِ عِضَاهُ

The purest greeting like fragrance and its diffusion

That no petal blocks with its thorns
