In the evening when her beauty was unmatched
Many an evening—how exquisitely elegant was its beauty—
My heart was pierced by the bright spear
Consumed my heart with its brilliant, radiant glow,
She cast upon the garden a dress of tranquility
It draped the garden in a mantle of gold,
Calling the confidant of passion to rejoice
Summoning the ally of longing to joyous delights.
So the branches swayed and embraced
And so the branches swayed and embraced each other,
Enraptured by the nightingales' melody
In rapture at the warbling of nightingales in the great trees.
