O Lord, whence comes strength?
O Lord, Possessor of Might!
Who waters the flowers with strength?
O He who pours out might upon creation,
Your servant has spent himself in passion
Your servant has perished from passionate longing,
And passion itself is spent.
And love has entirely weakened his endurance,
That which exalted him
And he is exhausted by that which stripped him
From the heights of glory when he was exalted,
Of solace, when it utterly overpowered him,
And the spear of sorrow has wounded him,
And the spear of sorrow has pierced him,
So it cast down his heart with wounds.
And its piercing has destroyed his heart.
So guide him and aid him,
So direct him and support him,
And make him firm as the prominent height.
And make him steadfast like a fixed peg,
And feed his heart with righteousness,
And feed his famished heart
Whether it be of goodness or firmness.
With the wheat of righteousness, or its rice.
He who is lowly called upon You—
And one of utter lowliness has called upon You,
Respond, O our Lord, to his support.
Answer, O our Lord, his faint supplication.
And save him from polytheism
And save him from polytheism,
When evil unveils its disgrace.
When evil unsheathes its piercing stab.
And his poverty reveals his incapacity,
And his poverty has revealed his helplessness,
And he inclines with supplication for help.
And his dire straits have lured him into hardship.
And make him incline to ease,
And ease him toward the path of ultimate ease,
And be his protection against its opposite.
And be his sanctuary from its opposite.
And be his charm against everything
And be his protective amulet from
He fears or needs protection from.
Everything he fears, or be his refuge.
And treat him with enabling guidance
And treat him with Your divine guidance
To what fulfills his needs.
Toward that which ensures his preservation.
And grant him safety from desires
And grant him safety from that which
That would lead him away from Your guidance.
Necessitates pushing him away from Your guidance,
And from what entails his rejection,
And from that which brings about striking his chest,
And from what entails his withdrawal.
And from that which brings about his forceful rebuff.
And deliver me in my mind
And keep me sound and safe within
From what entails my disdain.
My mind, from that which triggers its agitation,
And from Iblis the deluder—
And from Iblis, the master of
Do not let him tempt us to our ruin.
Deception—do not unleash his incitement upon us!
And from what plucks the fruit of sins
And from that which harvests the sin
That clothe the youth with vileness.
That makes the youth burn in its torment,
And from what gathers the defects
And from that which reaps the fault
That cover the profligate with vileness.
That clothes the inner soul with its filth.
And make me possess the bridle of righteousness
And grant me mastery over the mount of guidance,
That I may remain grasping its belt.
So that I may become one firmly holding its stirrup,
And grant me refuge from the striking of error
And grant me safety, O Grantor of
Or its stabbing or piercing.
Safety, from the spurring of deviation or its pricking,
And the striking of care or its wounding,
And the striking of anxiety or its piercing sting,
And the stabbing of grief or its thrusting.
And the stabbing of sorrow or its planted spear.
For my plea has called upon You,
For my distress has called upon from You
All-Knowing, All-Hearing, to my support,
One All-Knowing, hearing its faintest whisper,
By the status of the Chosen One, the Elect,
By the rank of the Chosen One, the
He who gave drink to the flowers of the meadow.
Selected, whose virtuous excellence quenched creation's thirst,
A perpetual prayer watering him
May a continuous prayer pour upon
With Your good pleasure or its flow.
Him a pure draught from Your good pleasure,
Upon him the dawn showered
Upon him, as long as the dawn
The sweetness of mention or its flow.
Grants him the sweetness of remembrance, or its pleasant tartness.
