O Abu Ya'za, O comforter of people,
O Abu Ya'za, O bestower of honor upon the people,
O melter of the troubles of the distressed,
O you who melts away the sharp blades of hardship,
We have prepared to depart from the land of Fez,
We have hastened our departure from the land of Fez,
Seeking your sweet-smelling breath.
Hoping to receive from you the most fragrant of breaths,
So he overflowed with abundant generosity,
Then he poured forth generosity like overflowing seas,
Your excellent son, Abu al-Abbas,
Your well-pleasing son, Abu Al-Abbas,
The resolute one, in whose eyes could be seen
The valiant hero, between whose very ey-

Patient with delegations, like his father,
Patient with the visiting delegations, just like his father,
My master, the patient bearer of burdens.
My master Sabir, the guiding light in the darkest hours,
So favor him with your secret, for he is the most
So single him out with your divine secret, for he is mo-

His abode has brought us all together,
Our entire gathering was welcomed by the home of his dwell-

-ing into its sanctuary, and he was never forgetful of us,
And he has granted us, with hopes, security,
He bestowed upon us our deepest hopes through his gracious company,
So now, which of us is hardy?
And he softened the hardened hearts within us,
And for your sake, he has brought us every good,
And for your sake, every goodness has come to us,
And let us drink deep of his kindness.
And he poured for us every cup of his righteousness,
So pour upon him your flowing generosity,
So let the clouds of your generosity rain abundantly upon him,
For he is the feeder, the pourer of drinks.
For he is the one who feeds, bestows, and clothes others,
And may God reward you for us abundantly,
And may God reward you on our behalf, O my mas-
O comfort of the exalted heavens.
-ter, with the highest gardens of Paradise, O best of consolers,
By His right with you, O my refuge,
So by his rightful standing with you, O my refuge,
May our honor be safe from disgrace.
May our honor be protected from all defilements,
And may we avoid the schemes of the deceitful,
And may we be shielded from the plots of the whispering devil,
And rise up, despite the vile.
And may we ascend despite the surrounding impurities,
And by his closeness with you, which is a matter
And by his closeness to you—which is a wondrous thing—
You must not neglect from my requests.
Do not be forgetful of my pleas,
And quench the heat of our distress with your help,
And quench the burning heat of our hardship with your generosity,
For it relieves me of bankruptcy.
For it is what cures me of my ruin,
And peace be upon you, O best of supports,
And peace be upon you, O best of healers,
Whose aid disgraces adversaries.
Whose fragrance shames the gentle breezes of myrtle.
