My soul is your ransom, O you who were far yet drew near
May my soul be your ransom, O you who has journeyed far, yet drawn near,
And made home in the quarters of the tent and no more
And has settled in no homeland save the abode of my innermost depths.
Were it not that I fear my heart would melt from yearning
Were I not afraid that my heart would melt from wasting sorrow,
I would say you are my heart or that I am you evermore
I would have said you are my heart, or indeed, you are me.
