1. ورازقيٍّ مَخْطَفِ الخُصورِ

    كأنهُ مخازن البلّورِ

    And my provision is the snatcher of peachiness

    As if it is the warehouses of crystal

  2. قد ضُمِّنَتْ مِسكاً إلى الشطور

    وفي الأعالي ماءُ ورد جُوري

    Embedded with musk to the banks

    And in the heights, pink water of largesse

  3. لم يُبق منه وهَجُ الحَرور

    إلا ضياءً في ظروف نور

    Nothing of its flame of heat remained

    Except radiance in circumstances of light

  4. لو أنه يبقَى على الدهور

    قرّط آذان الحسان الحور

    If it were to remain for eternities

    It would decorate the ears of the beautiful maidens

  5. بلا فريد وبلا شذور

    له مذاق العسل المَشور

    Without equal and without beams

    It has the taste of stirred honey

  6. ونكهة المسك مع الكافور

    ورقَّة الماء على الصدور

    And the flavor of musk with camphor

    And the softness of water on the chests

  7. وبَردُ مسِّ الخَصِر المقْرور

    باكرتهُ والطير في الوكور

    And the coolness of touching the slender waist

    Its early morning and the birds in the nests

  8. وعُذَر اللذات في البكور

    بفتية من ولد المنصور

    And the excuse of pleasures in the dawns

    With youths from the sons of Mansur

  9. أملأَ للعين من البدور

    حتى أتينا خيمة الناطور

    It filled for the eye from the full moons

    Until we came to the tent of relaxation

  10. قبل ارتفاع الشمس للذُّرور

    فانقضَّ كالطاوي من الصقور

    Before the rising of the sun to the heights

    So it swooped like the diving falcon from the falcons

  11. بطاعة الراغب لا المجبور

    والحر عبد الحلَب المشطور

    With the obedience of the desirer not the compelled

    And the free servant of the cloven orchard

  12. حتى أتانا بضروعٍ خور

    مملوءة من عسل مخصور

    Until he came to us with udders now empty

    Filled from squeezed honey

  13. والطّلُّ مِثلُ اللؤلؤ المنثور

    من ناقعٍ فيها ومن مَحدُور

    And the dripping like scattered pearls

    From some new and some aged

  14. ثم جَلَسْنا مجلسَ المحبور

    على حِفافيْ جَدولٍ مَسْجور

    Then we sat the session of the blessed

    On the banks of a burning river

  15. أبيضَ مثل المُهْرَقِ المنشور

    أو مثل متن المُنصُل المشهور

    White like the widely spread handkerchief

    Or like the surface of the famous thin sword

  16. يَنسابُ مِثلَ الحيَّة المذعور

    بين سماطَيْ شجرٍ مَسْطُور

    Flowing like the frightened serpent

    Between the banks of arranged trees

  17. ناهيك للعُنقود من طَهور

    فنِيلت الأوطارُ في سرور

    Not to mention the purity of the bunches

    So the times were attained in bliss

  18. وكُلُّ ما نَقضي من الأمور

    تَعِلةٌ عن يومنا المنظور

    And all that we spend from the matters

    An excuse from our visible day

  19. ومتعةٌ من مُتع الغرورِ

    And a pleasure from the pleasures of delusions
