ألا ربما سؤتُ الغيورَ وساءني

وبات كلانا من أخيه على وحرِ

Perhaps I have wronged the jealous one and he is angry with me

وقبَّلتُ أفواهاً عِذاباً كأنها

ينابيع خمرٍ حُصِّبت لؤلؤ البحرِ

And I kissed mouths that were torment, as though they were

Fountains of wine gathered from the pearl of the sea
