وِشيخ يُنظِّف أعفاجَه

غُلام له حادرٌ أشقرُ

An old man cleaning his gums

He has a blond tent

فمَبْعرُهُ مثلُ حُلقومه

وإن قلتُ مَبعرهُ أطهر

His mustache is like his palate

And if I said his mustache is cleaner

أحبَّ الطهارة من داخلٍ

فلم يرض منها بما يظهر

He loved cleanliness from within

So he was not satisfied with what is apparent

وما استدخل الأيرَ من شهوةٍ

ولكن به المذهبُ الأكبر

And he did not internally desire the silver coin

But in him is the greater doctrine

رأى طُهر ظاهره لا يتم

م أو يطهرَ الأدَمُ الأحْمر

He saw the purity of his appearance incomplete

Or the red skin purifies

وصان أناملَهُ أن تَمْس

سَ ما يُتحامَى وما يُقذَر

And protected his fingers from touching

What is pretended and what is dirty

لذلك ليست تزال استه

يخضخضها مِخْوَض أعجر

That's why his ring is still

Stirred by a bald old man

يَغيبُ وبُرنُسُهُ أحمرٌ

ويبدو وبُرْنسه أصفر

He disappears and his hat is red

And he appears and his hat is yellow
