My soul yearns for melted lead
And goblets in my hand, a pourer
And a scourge, harsh and angry on the shoulder
Baring teeth like the fangs of a predator
So the pourer pours into his gaping mouth
A draught of that melted torment
When it flows in his gullet and his belly
And his life twists away into nothingness
And his limbs crumble into ruins
And his entrails crumble into debris
The pourer said, say to me, Abu al-Harith
Say to me, O breaker of backs
Where is that arrogance in you, and that insolence?
Say to me, O disappointer of hopes
And we call to him, how goes Abu al-Harith
Or how is his patience with torment?
